Your energetic frequency plays a BIG part in calling in your Desires.
So WHY is raising your vibration (a.k.a. being in an empowered energy state) so crucial?
The answer is not what you think…
It’s not that you “vibrate” at the frequency of, say, a shiny new Tesla… and then one pulls into your driveway.
It’s not that you think really hard about a red bicycle and all of a sudden one shows up in your garage. (Thanks, The Secret – er, not.)
The Law of Vibration tells us that every thought we send out will be matched by a corresponding thought.
Raising your vibration changes the frequency of the thoughts you send out to the Creative Substance, so you’ll receive corresponding high frequency thoughts in return. These thoughts then allow you to perceive the opportunities that already exist in your field to manifest what you want, which you can then take action on.
Send out low vibration thoughts, and you’ll receive low vibration thoughts in return. But when your frequency is high, your awareness opens up, and you can easily perceive the way to call your Desires right in.
So that, right there, is a game-changer. (And very different from what you’ve likely heard.)
The problem is…
Staying in a high vibration is easier said than done!
You know what I’m talking about…
There you are, managing your energy like a boss… feeling empowered, taking inspired action… UNTIL… a phone call, a Facebook post, a confrontational conversation triggers the bejeezus out of you….
… and suddenly you’re back in the swirling, the fear, the “fight or flight” hormones raging through your veins… all of which pushes you further away from your Desire.
This “energetic cha-cha” might be fun at a party (or with your three-going-on-four-year-old, ask me how I know)… but it’s not cool when you want to change your life, or manifest something BIG.
What you need at your fingertips are vibration-raising hacks: easy practices you can whip out in a flash when your energy starts to dip… or goes off the rails completely.
Here are 10 of my favorite frequency-raising practices, all of which can be done in 5 minutes or less:
1. Diffuse essential oils
This is a BIG one. Quality essential oils, like those I recommend from doTERRA, provide an instant calming effect to your hormone-flooded central nervous system and can quickly shift your emotional state.
Some oils to try:
- Wild Orange for uplifting, abundant thoughts when you’re triggered by scarcity and lack based thinking.
- Lavender to calm a racing mind and release fears of rejection or doubt.
- Peppermint to move through stress, grief and sadness and regain your zest for life.
- Frankincense to drop out of ego and into higher consciousness.
The cool thing about using essential oils is that many oils offer similar emotional benefits. Experimenting with oils you feel drawn to will help you quickly learn which will work best for you.

2. Drop into a juicy energy practice
My personal go-to is this 5 minute ritual to shift your energy, but you can engage in any practice that helps you drop out of “ego mind” and shift into your Higher Self, or what I call our Essence.
Examples might include meditation, visualization or creative activities like painting, dancing, listening or playing music – anything that consciously reconnects you to your Divinity, and true source of energy.
3. Use “Power Questions”
Questions are powerful medicine.
Asking yourself the right questions when you feel yourself slipping into a downward spiral can quickly shift you from low vibration victim mode back into the awareness that YOU are the creatrix of your destiny.
The best place to ask questions from is that of observer, or what I sometimes call witness consciousness. In this space, you can look objectively at what’s REAL, rather than illusion.
So how do you DO that, when you’re triggered nine ways from Sunday?
Get curious. Ask…
- What’s my role in this?
- What’s the gift in this?
- How can I…?
- What’s it going to take to…?
- What other possibilities exist here?
Questions like these shift the frequency of your thoughts and quickly empower you to see new possibilities. From there, you can take new actions.
4. Reach for a higher Truth
This also requires stepping into observer mode and recognizing that the circumstances in front of you are simply that: circumstances!
Circumstances may FEEL real, and the facts on the ground may be accurate for the moment… but they are not Truth.
- Everything you want is already here. (This is the Law of Polarity.)
- What you energize, manifests.
- Your supply is truly unlimited. (Your supply comes from Source, through other people.)
Leaning on what’s true – rather than illusion – creates a shift in perception and raises your vibration.

5. Anointing with essential oils
Like diffusing, anointing yourself with a well-chosen essential oil imbues you with the properties of that oil. You can infuse the gesture with your intention, further directing your energy to your desired outcome.
TIP: Anytime you’re working with essential oils topically, it’s important to consider whether to use directly on the skin, or to dilute with a carrier oil (such as fractionated coconut oil). Most of doTERRA’s oils are safe to use directly on the skin, but using a carrier oil will help the oils last longer. Also, make sure you’re using the good stuff! Many over-the-counter oils are stuffed with fillers and questionable ingredients. Know where your oils are coming from.
To keep things simple and safe, I love doTERRA Touch products, which are doTERRA oils that come diluted in handy rollerballs. All of the Emotional Aromatherapy oils come in Touch rollerballs, as do my favorite frequency-raising oils, Lavender and Frankincense.
Anointing is one of those simple practices that can make a big difference. I keep my anointing oils in my bag and by my desk. I apply them several times a day.
6. Go to your gratitude journal
Even in the darkest moments, you’ve got plenty to be grateful for. If you’re feeling triggered, stop, drop and give up some gratitude.

7. Use a releasing ritual
To manifest something of a higher nature, you MUST be willing to let go of that which is of a lower nature. That may (not always) include whatever triggered you – especially if it has become a habit.
You can let go of anything that’s not serving you any time you choose. Grounding that decision into the physical with a releasing ritual lets your monkey mind know that IT IS DONE.
Every new moon in The Feminine Magic® School of Manifesting, we release and clear old energies to make way for the new. But your ritual can happen any time you need it, and can be as simple as writing down what you’re releasing on a slip of paper, then burning it or flushing it down the toilet.

8. The power of “speed dial”
Want one of the FASTEST ways to snap out of a low-vibe, downward spiral place? Get someone to talk you out of it.
Consider this: when you’re on the downward trajectory, you simply can’t perceive all the facts that are CONTRARY to your downward thoughts. Your brain is actually blocking them out. So you send low vibe thoughts to the Creative Substance and… you get more low vibe thoughts back!
Years ago I discovered a simple solution to this: the speed dial list.
Your speed dial list is a group of friends who are ALSO on the Feminine Magician’s path – people who are a commitment to their creative powers and living life full out.
These are friends you can call at a moment’s notice to talk you off the ledge (so to speak).
There have been many times when my speed dial list has been worth its weight in gold, particularly during big launches when everything can and will go wrong.
This is why it’s SO important to seek out and befriend those on a similar path. High-end masterminds and group programs like The Feminine Magic® School of Manifesting are a great place to attract like-minded sisters online.
9. Reach for a (high vibe) book
Whether you’re spinning out OR just want to elevate your vibration even higher, ya’ gotta feed your mind. (Feed it the Truth, that is.)
Cracking open a book is an easy way for the Universe to deliver the exact message you need to read right when you need it.
A few books I keep close by, for this purpose, are:

- The Game of Life and How to Play It by Florence Scovel Shinn
- Anything by Joel Osteen. Yes! I’m a flaming Pagan Goddess Worshipper who loves Joel, namely because he ALWAYS channels encouragement, love and speaks to our creative powers. You Can, You Will is a book that has gotten me through some very tough times.
10. Ask an oracle for love & guidance
I love working with oracle decks for instant clarity and spot-on messages, meant for me in the moment.
Oracle readings are also great for reconnecting back to the truth that you are Divine, and that you are co-creating with Creative Life Force Energy, to create your experience.
Which deck to use?
I’ve worked with Tarot for 20+ years. I love Tarot for its rich symbolism (traditional decks contain entire systems of magic), and I’ll admit that in these moments, I typically reach for something a little less dense.
Here are a few of my favorite decks for the “spin out” moments:

I recommend you print or bookmark this article and keep it handy for the next time you find yourself caught off guard by fear, overwhelm or worry.
You might find some of these practices resonate and work quickly for you, while others feel too out of your comfort zone for now. That’s fine.
